Fenton stops losing streak

Nicole Celarek put down 13 kills, her 13th at match point, and Fenton snapped a 30-match losing streak with a season-opening 25-10, 19-25, 25-22 win over Proviso West on Tuesday.

Nicole Susmanski had 3 kills and 10 digs, Tina Guarino 7 digs, 6 assists and 2 kills and Hannah Wassmann 6 assists for Fenton.

Naperville North d. Metea Valley:

Ashley Crawford had 11 kills and Corinne Gajcak 9 kills and 15 digs, as the host Huskies rallied past the Mustangs 22-25, 25-17, 25-15. Madison Murphy added 8 kills and Sami Scroggins 6 kills for Naperville North. For Metea (1-2) Jessica Boddy had 14 kills, Lexie Lobdell 8 and Ellie Petersen 33 assists.

Neuqua Valley d. Bolingbrook:

Brooke Antenen had 7 kills, 7 digs and 7 digs to pace the Wildcats (5-3) to a 25-14, 25-20 win in Naperville. Kaitlynn Novak added 5 kills and 6 digs and Taylor McKeown 4 kills and 7 digs.

Benet d. Fenwick 25-16, 25-7:

Nora Young and Maddie Haggerty both had 4 kills and Hannah Kaminsky 10 assists for the No. 6 Redwings (7-0).

Hinsdale Central d. Waubonsie Valley:

Rachel Minarick had 7 kills and 11 assists and Lisa Stucnicka 5 kills for the Warriors in a 25-22, 25-18 loss. Brittany Rampersad added 4 kills and Lauren Clarke 8 digs for Waubonsie (4-3).

Joliet Catholic d. Hinsdale South:

Jessica Brezwyn had 16 kills and Melissa Nava 8 kills and 10 digs for the No. 5 Hornets (3-4) in a 21-25, 25-23, 26-24 loss to Joliet Catholic in Darien.

Glenbard West d. Glenbard East:

Caleigh Ryan had 26 assists and 3 kills and Amanda Perry 7 kills, 6 digs and 3 aces as the Hilltoppers (6-0) remained unbeaten with a 25-12, 25-14 win. Gabriella Roth had 5 kills and Lauren Pusinelli 4 for Glenbard East (0-1).

Glenbard South d. Montini:

Jane Trzaska had 6 kills, 10 digs and 4 aces in the Raiders' 26-24, 25-18 win. Tarah Valdez added 6 kills and Kim Deprez 15 digs for Glenbard South (4-2). For Montini Natalie Lopez and Joyce Balash each had 5 kills.

St. Charles East d. Wheaton North:

Meghan Niski had 8 kills and Nichole Lambert 4 as No. 2 St. Charles East rolled past Wheaton North 25-13, 25-6.

Westmont d. Timothy Christian:

Jordan Smits had 11 kills and 11 digs for Timothy Christian in its 18-25, 25-23, 25-21 loss. Jenna Lodewyk added 16 assists and 3 aces and Kaylie Pries 5 aces and 5 digs.
