Sheriff's car, motorcycle show aids Special Olympics

Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez will host his annual charity car and motorcycle show Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Martin Family Farm, 2S111 Green Road in Elburn. Registration for the event will start at 9 a.m.

Entries are $10 and spectators and nonparticipants are welcome as well. Nonparticipants will be charged $5 per car.

Registration for participants will begin at 9 a.m. and the event will run from noon to 3 p.m. Food will be available for purchase at the event.

This year's charity will be Special Olympics. Each year Perez chooses a charitable organization that provides assistance to local residents.

The event provides an opportunity for those who take pride in their vehicles to show off a bit while providing some assistance to members of the community who are in need.

The past charities which have benefited from the car and motorcycle show are Easter Seals, Disabled American Veterans, the Figgins Foundation and CASA Kane County.
