Palatine’s Wellness Place holds prostate cancer walk

Two charities, including the Wellness Place in Palatine, have joined forces to hold the seventh annual SEA (Support, Educate and Advocate) Blue Prostate Cancer Walk/Run.

It will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at Chicago’s Lincoln Park, LaSalle and Stockton. The event, which will include a 3K walk, 5K run, kids’ activities, educational fair and early detection for prostate cancer, is in collaboration with the Downers Grove-based Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network.

Both groups offer free programs and services for prostate cancer survivors and their families. The cost is $15 to $20 for kids and $35 to $40 for adults. For more information, visit seablueprostatewalk.org.
