Arlington Hts. asks for comments on police department

As part of the reaccreditation program of the Arlington Heights Police Department, the public is invited to comment at a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, in the first-floor Buechner Room at village hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road,

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. is looking for community input in four areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.

Another option is to call (847) 368-5558 from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, to talk with members of the assessment team.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Arlington Heights Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, Va., 20155, or visit calea.org.

Comments in person or via phone will be limited to 10 minutes and should address the department’s ability to meet CALEA standards.
