A Buffalo Grove man was charged Friday in connection with a crash that killed a Mount Prospect woman.
Jiho Lee, 22, was charged with two counts of aggravated DUI with great bodily harm, one count of aggravated DUI causing a fatality, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Authorities said Lee was traveling north on Sanders Road near Commercial Avenue in Northbrook at 1:35 a.m. Thursday when he hit a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Zofia E. Strzalkowska.
Her car was hit as she attempted to make a left-hand turn from Commercial onto southbound Sanders, according to the Northbrook Police Department.
Strzalkowska was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Officials said Strzalkowska worked in Northbrook.
Lee was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for medical treatment, and he was later released to Northbrook police.
One of the male passengers in Lee's car was also taken to the hospital, where he remains with an unknown condition. A third passenger refused medical treatment.
Lee's bond was set at $1 million during a hearing at the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie Friday.
Officials said his passport would be forwarded to the clerk of the circuit court of Cook County.
