Indiana ends hunting/fishing agreement with Ohio

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana’s wildlife agency has ended an agreement with the state of Ohio that had allowed Ohio residents who own land in Indiana to hunt and fish in the Hoosier State without an Indiana license.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday that the state’s reciprocal agreement with Ohio was terminated because of a law recently passed by Ohio’s Legislature.

That law ended the ability of Indiana residents who own property in the Buckeye State to hunt or fish on that Ohio property without a license.

Now that the two states’ reciprocal agreement is over, residents of both states who want to hunt or fish in the other state first need to purchase a license to do so.
