Elk Grove Village

Ÿ Burglars broke into a 1999 Ford work van on the 100 block of Busse Road between 6 p.m. Aug. 16 and 11 a.m. Aug. 17 and stole several tools in tool bags. Loss was estimated at $6,060.

Ÿ Thieves damaged one evaporator coil and stole another one left outside Cooling Equipment, 141 Garlisch Drive around 10:10 p.m. Aug. 12. Loss was estimated at $10,000.

Ÿ Thieves stole four laptop computers and a docking station out of the training room at Niehoff Pavilion, 955 Beisner, Aug. 10.

Ÿ Thieves cut a fence at U.S. Plumbing Supply, 160 Joey Drive, between 6 p.m. Aug. 6 and 10 a.m. Aug. 7 and stole four pallets of SV pipe valued at $9,926.

Ÿ Burglars stole a backpack with laptop computer and video game system out of an unlocked 2002 Kia Optima at Love Street and Elk Grove Boulevard between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 11. Value was estimated at $3,000.

Ÿ Burglars broke into three 2011 Chevrolet trucks and stole the spare tires at Hoskins Chevrolet, 175 N. Arlington Heights Road, between Aug. 13 and 15. Loss was estimated at $3,150.

Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2007 Volvo tractor truck at 1570 Carmen Drive between 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6:11 a.m. Aug. 16, damaged the steering column and stole the turn signal unit, an engine heating coil, headlight unit, front grill, a wind deflector, electrical cable and fuel. Loss was estimated at $6,700.

Ÿ Thieves stole a 53-foot box trailer containing pallets out of a lot at 1301 Estes Ave., between 1:30 and 6:50 a.m. Aug. 16. Value was estimated at $6,633.

Ÿ Rogert Pyzyna, 45, of the 2N200 block of Prairie Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was arrested around 3:20 p.m. Aug. 6 on the 700 block of Morse Avenue and charged with theft. His court date is Aug. 25.

Ÿ Richard W. Cappuzzo, 52, of the 100 block of Wildwood Road, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at his home and charged with damage to property. His court date is Aug. 31.

Streamwood

Ÿ Michael Mytnik, 44, of the 500 block of Newberry Drive, Streamwood, was arrested around 9 p.m. Aug. 17 at the police department, 401 E. Irving Park Road, and charged with production/possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Reports said officers saw marijuana plants growing on a second-floor balcony and found a drug pipe and other drug paraphernalia in his bedroom. His court date is Sept. 21.

Ÿ Freddie E. Burley, 29, of the 14500 block of Harper Avenue, Dolton, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the police department, 401 E. Irving Park Road, and charged with battery and resisting a peace officer. Reports said he pushed an officer during a battery investigation.

Ÿ Burglars stole a debit card out of a wallet in a 1998 Ford Taurus at a home on the 0-100 block of Arbor Drive between 4:30 and 7 a.m. Aug. 17 and used the card twice.

Ÿ Two men with a handgun punched a man outside his apartment building on the 5000 block of Valley Lane around 11:15 p.m. Aug. 17, held his arms and stole his wallet valued at $40. They fled in a sedan.

Ÿ Burglars stole a speaker box and amplifier out of the trunk of 2003 Cadillac Seville in a service lot at Accurate & Affordable Auto repair shop, 151 Burgundy Parkway, between July 1 and Aug. 15.

Ÿ Thieves stole jewelry valued at $4,000 out of a home on the 1300 block of Laurel Oaks Drive between noon and 1 p.m. Aug. 22 after one offender distracted her in the backyard while the other offender entered the home and stole the jewelry out of a bedroom

Ÿ Thieves took a wallet, car keys and a laptop computer out of a home on the 200 block of Chrisman Drive between 10:15 p.m. Aug. 17 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 18 and stole the green 1996 Infiniti in the driveway.

Ÿ Burglars pried the rear door at a home on the 2100 block of Falmouth Court between 2:30 and 7:55 p.m. Aug. 19 and stole three TVs, three video game systems, and a surround sound unit.
