Sam Boesch slammed home 16 kills as the Huntley girls volleyball team opened the season Tuesday night with a 19-25, 25-15, 25-15 win over highly regarded Rosary in nonconference action.

Amy Dion added 23 digs for the Red Raiders and Eli Manning had 24 assists.

Lake Park d. Elgin: Elyssa Helker had 4 kills and Jackie Shioli added 3 kills but Elgin fell to Lake Park 26-24, 25-19 in the Maroons’ season opener. Junior setter Hope Demel had 8 assists, 5 kills and 1 block for Elgin.
