Summer's over for Northwest suburban school students

Summer vacation is ending for thousands of Northwest suburban students this week, as elementary and high schools resume classes.

Among high school districts resuming classes Tuesday were Maine Township District 207, Northwest Suburban District 214 and Palatine-Schaumburg Township District 211, the largest high school district in Illinois.

All the Barrington Area Unit District 220 schools resumed classes Tuesday. All the Elgin Area School District U-46 schools begin classes Wednesday. It's the second largest unit district in the state, after Chicago.
