CORPAK MedSystems names Blair CEO

Buffalo Grove-based CORPAK MedSystems Inc. named Jeffrey Blair as the company’s chief executive officer.

Tom Kuhn, who served as chief executive officer of CORPAK until Blair’s appointment, will continue with the company as president and chief operating officer. Kuhn will oversee CORPAK’s day-to-day operations and will also focus on business development.

“We are excited to welcome Jeff to the CORPAK team and are confident that he will have an immediate and meaningful impact, building on CORPAK’s excellent performance over the past three years,” said Eric Larson and Brian Miller, managing partners of Linden LLC and members of CORPAK’s board of directors. “Jeff’s experience in the medical device industry and his track record of significant sales growth will be tremendous assets as CORPAK executes its plan to expand adoption of the CORTRAK technology for placement of enteral feeding tubes. Jeff will also focus on realizing CORPAK’s goals to expand its reach and product offerings through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.”

Blair recently served as the chairman and chief executive officer of North American Science Associates, Inc., a contract research organization that provides medical device testing and consulting services to medical device manufacturers. Before that, Blair was senior vice president and chief operating officer of Graphic Controls Corp., a developer and manufacturer of medical and industrial disposables.

Blair began his health care career at American Hospital Supply and Baxter International, where he helped build the hospital supply division into a $2 billion business. Blair received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hanover College and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and management from Indiana University.

“I’m particularly excited to join CORPAK and continue its impressive rollout of the CORTRAK enteral-access system, which improves clinical outcomes and lowers costs in the intensive care unit — allowing hospitals to reduce medical errors and meet the health outcome and cost-saving goals of health reform,” Blair said.

CORPAK MedSystems Inc. is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative medical devices focused on the enteral-feeding and bedside-technology markets, including the company’s flagship CORTRAK computer-guided system that enables real-time visualization of the feeding-tube tip during placement.
