EMC Corp. to bring 200 jobs to Chicago

EMC Corp. is opening a new office in Chicago and plans to bring 200 jobs to the city over the next two years.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the company’s plans Tuesday. Emanuel says EMC is a global leader in the information technology industry.

The mayor’s office says EMC’s operation in Chicago is expected to be open by the end of the first quarter in 2012.

EMC CEO Joe Tucci calls Chicago “one of the world’s leading centers of commerce,” and he says the city offers the type of high qualified workers needed to serve EMC’s customers throughout the world.

EMC already has an office in Lisle. The company employs more than 50,000 people worldwide and does business in more than 80 countries.
