Murder suspect arrested in Carpentersville

A Chicago man was arrested this week in Carpentersville after he shot and killed a 33-year-old female last month, Chicago Police officials said.

Parish Wilson, 21, with an address in the 0 to 100 block of North Hamlin Blvd., shot the 33-year-old victim while she was in the 3100 block of West Douglas St. July 28, police said.

Wilson shot the victim in the back of the head at about 6:30 p.m. while she was driving a van, causing the victim to lose control of the vehicle, said Chicago Police Officer John Mirabelli, a department spokesman.

After being shot, the woman struck a parked car and then went up on a sidewalk. She was taken to an area hospital, but died of her injuries Aug. 5, Mirabelli said.

Wilson fled the scene after the shooting, but was arrested Wednesday at Fox View Apartments on Oxford Drive in Carpentersville, Mirabelli said.

He was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm, Mirabelli said.

Wilson is being held without bail in Cook County jail.
