Sun City Huntley choruses to perform in show

Submitted by The Sun-Tones

Two Sun City Huntley barbershop groups will perform at the New Tradition Chorus Show, “Broadway Four and More,” Saturday, Aug. 27, at Huntley High School Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road in Huntley.

The Sun-Tones, a group of Sun City residents singing barbershop style, have performed throughout Huntley and neighboring communities. In addition, One More Time, a Sun City women’s quartet, will perform.

The New Tradition will feature music from “Les Miserables,” “Guys and Dolls,” “West Side Story” and “George M. Cohan Tonight,” as well as other patriotic music for the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.

A special feature of the show is the appearance of a Community Chorus. Men and boys from the area who love to sing are invited to join this group to sing three songs with the New Tradition.

Music and learning tracts will be provided. Minimum requirements are to know the music and attend three rehearsals. Contact Will Gertig at (847) 669-7171 or Bob Geinosky at (847) 669-8960.

The show starts at 2 p.m. and doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $12, $14 at the door, and $8 for students. They can be purchased from Sun City Huntley via the Community Services Desk, by phone at (847) 515-7650, online at www.sccah.com, or from the New Tradition Chorus at (800) 746-9246 or www.newtradition.org.
