Three vehicles parked the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Twin Lakes Golf Course and Recreation Area in Palatine were burglarized, Palatine Police Cmdr. Kurt Schroeder said. Between about 3 and 4 p.m., someone smashed the windows of three vehicles and stole purses, cellphones and a camera. No one is in custody. He said none of the items were in plain view and that all the car doors were locked. Schroeder said that there hasn't been a pattern or increase in burglaries at Twin Lakes, but said recreation areas are common targets of thieves. He recommended leaving valuables at home or carrying them.;http://saltcreek.multisportsystems.com/page/show/6812
