Music notes: Waco Bros bring the rock to Fitzgerald's

These ‘Brothers' rock

The Waco Brothers, the country-punk outfit led by Chicago indie-music icon Jon Langford, have put out some stellar records. But it's the band's live show that sets it apart. Loud, raucous, joyous, sweaty — the Wacos always deliver. See them this weekend at the venerable suburban music venue Fitzgerald's. The Waco Brothers perform with The Shams Band at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Fitzgerald's Nightclub, 6615 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn. $15. Go to fitzgeraldsnightclub.com.

Make-up date

Pop Princess Katy Perry returns to Rosemont for a show that was rescheduled after illness forced her to cancel her original July concert. 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont. $35, $45. Go to ticketmaster.com.
