Lopez, Tyler and Jackson re-up with 'Idol'

“American Idol” judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson will return for the 11th season of Fox TV's prime-time singing competition in January.

“Idol,” the most-watched series on television, returns on Jan. 22, following a National Football League playoff telecast, Los Angeles-based Fox, a division of News Corp., said today in a statement.

Lopez and Tyler are returning for their second season, joining Jackson, a judge since “American Idol” was first aired in 2001. The show increased its audience last season for the first time in four years with the new judges. “Idol” has been No. 1 among adults ages 18 to 49, the demographic group marketers target, for the past eight seasons, Fox said.
