Forest district offers turtle program

Preschoolers and their parents can make crafts and learn about turtles Aug. 23 in a program at the Lakewood Forest Preserve near Wauconda. The “Hikin’ Tykes” program is open to kids ages 2 to 4 who are accompanied by adults. It runs from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Registration ranges from $2 to $7.
