Elgin YMCA offers before-, after school programs

Prairie Valley Family YMCA is currently taking registrations for its 2011-2012 Before- and After-school Care programs at two locations — the Taylor Family Branch, 50 N. McLean Blvd. in Elgin and the Gilberts Family Branch program at Gilberts Elementary School, 729 Paperbark Lane.

All programs are open to children ages 5 to 12 and require a registration fee of $25 to secure participation during the upcoming school year.

The Taylor Branch programs include the following options that are available Monday through Friday, Aug. 24, until the end of the Elgin Area School District U-46 school year. Prices vary based on YMCA membership status.

Ÿ After School Care, 2 to 6 p.m. three days per week; priced from $171 monthly.

Ÿ After School Care, 2 to 6 p.m. five days per week; priced from $285 monthly.

Ÿ Before and After School Care, 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.; priced from $570 monthly.

The Gilberts Family Branch programs include the following after-school options only, all available from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. All programs begin Monday, Aug. 15, and run through the end of the school year:

Ÿ After School Care, two days per week; priced from $130 monthly.

Ÿ After School Care, three days per week; priced from $146 monthly.

Ÿ After School Care, four days per week; priced from $178 monthly.

Ÿ After School Care, five days per week; priced from $216 per month.

“Space is limited, especially in the Taylor Branch programs, so we are encouraging parents to sign their children up as soon as possible,” said Jennifer Alberts, Youth and Family director for the Taylor and Gilberts Family Branches.
