Cary driver gets 3 years in prison

A Cary man was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for ramming another man with his car.

Michael W. Rohn, 24, was found guilty of three felony counts of aggravated battery in June, though a McHenry County jury also ruled that Rohn was not guilty of more severe attempted murder charges.

Prosecutors said Rohn and Jeremy Sojka, 21, of Cary were involved in an argument in the early morning hours of Oct. 16, 2010, in a parking lot. Moments before, someone in Sojka's car reportedly made an obscene gesture at Rohn while at a McDonald's drive-through.

Rohn, driving a Jeep Wrangler, followed Sojka's car into a nearby Walgreens parking lot. Sojka got out of his vehicle to confront Rohn, who remained in his driver's seat, and a fight ensued, prosecutors said.

Rohn put his car in reverse and struck Sojka twice before driving away, officials said.

Sojka suffered injuries including a lacerated liver, broken pelvis and broken femur.
