Watch or perform in Schaumburg’s Got Talent Aug. 13

Find out which friends, family and neighbors have “it” at Schaumburg’s Got Talent!

Schaumburg’s Got Talent will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Choose to be part of the contest, perform for fun or just watch the performance.

Talent can perform competitively or non-competitively. Acts who are competing will be judged. Contestants from each age category having the highest scores from judges go on to compete via Web voting. Contestants advance according to the highest combined judge and community votes. Prizes will be awarded to the winner.

Contestants must preregister to audition. Contestants will be contacted regarding audition times. Talent categories include singing, music, dancing, magic, juggling, comedy, acting and acrobatics. Age categories include ages 4-7, 8-12, 13-18, 19-25, 26 and up, and multigenerational.

Competitive act fee is $10 per person for residents and $15 per person for nonresidents. Noncompetitive act fee is $5 per person for residents and $10 per person for nonresidents. Audition forms are available on parkfun.com.

There is a mandatory rehearsal from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12, for all contestants.

Tickets for the performance are available at the Community Recreation Center north registration counter. Ticket price is $6 for both youth and adults.
