Naperville junior tennis announces tournament winners

It was another big summer for the Naperville Summer Junior Tennis League.

The league is made up of 24 teams, representing 14 clubs from the Naperville area, who met Friday afternoons for five weeks of dual-team meets this summer.

The season wrapped up with the Singles and Doubles Tournament and the Team Cup Challenge. This season there was a record 156 players who gathered at five different sites for the eight divisions of competition.

Despite the threat of rain all week, 120 tournament matches were completed in four hours of competitive match play.

The following is a listing of all the results of the season-ending tournament:

Boys high school singles: First place, Connor Sass, Stillwater; second place, Tyler Puntney, River Run

Boys high school doubles: First place, Zach Bauernfeind/Sam Trevino, Breckenridge; second place, Nick Mulcare/Christian Martinez, River Run

Girls high school singles: First place, Sierra DiMonte, Cress Creek; second place, Ellyse Kozal, Stillwater

Girls high school doubles: First place, Carissa Tsouchlas/Kathryn Storey, Hobson West; second place, Ignacia Caviedes/Ratuja Reddy, White Eagle Owners

Boys junior high and younger singles: First place, Jack Monovic, River Run; second place, Rahul Gautam, Tall Grass

Boys junior high and younger doubles: First place, Nick Oddo/Gabe Matar, Huntington Estates; second place, Manny Nelson/Nick Connelly, Huntington Estates

Girls junior high and younger singles: First place, Serena Zhu, Oakhurst; second place, Brianna Mitchell, Huntington Estates

Girls junior high and younger doubles: First place, Tarika Patel/Ellie Madeline, Hobson West; second place, Charlotte Harland/ Eema Siddiqui, River Run
