What liberals really think of us

Once in a while liberals slip and tell us what they really think of us. When the House of Representatives was unsuccessful in rescinding the ban on incandescent light bulbs, Energy Secretary Steven Chu explained that we, the American voters, are “too stupid” to make decisions for ourselves. No kidding.

On a conference call with reporters, Chu acknowledged that the ban limits the types of light bulbs offered, but defended it anyway because “We are taking away a choice that continues to let people waste their money.” Waste our money? The government needs to guard us from paying 30 cents a piece for incandescent light bulbs to paying $5 for fluorescent light bulbs? Most of us have tried fluorescent and find them ugly, expensive and with a short life span.

With fluorescent comes a long list of instructions of what to do if one is accidentally broken and the poisonous mercury escapes into the air in our house. Open the windows, clean it up with a mask and latex gloves on. enclose it securely so the garbagemen do not inhale the mercury. The list goes on. Mercury and lead are heavy metals that the kidneys do not eliminate. We had to eliminate lead from indoor paints several years back because children were picking up lead chips and putting them in their mouths. This resulted in brain damage Why are they now mandating that mercury come into our homes?
