"JLKD members strive to help at-risk children develop a lifelong love of reading through our mission-driven initiatives," President Christina Brady said. "JLKD is an ideal volunteer organization for local women because we help impact our community in a positive way, provide training to our members to allow them to expand their personal growth and build leadership skills, and offer the opportunity for them to connect with like-minded women at our social events."
The league also offers Done-in-a-Day projects to benefit local community partners such as Mutual Ground, Mooseheart Child City and School, United Way DuPage/West Cook, and the West Suburban Community Pantry, among others.
The organization combats childhood obesity through its Kids in the Kitchen initiatives and advocates on issues affecting members and the community.
