BG Police searching for vandals to post office

Police are looking for witnesses to a vandalism at the Buffalo Grove Post Office that took place either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Cmdr. Steve Husak of the Buffalo Grove Police Department said at some point between 8 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, someone threw a “projectile” at a lobby window of the post office in the 200 block of North Buffalo Grove Road, shattering the glass.

He did not describe what the projectile was, but said the object was not heavy enough to destroy the double-pained, steel reinforced window.

“It splintered the window, but the window remained in place and the object did not go through,” he said.

Husak added video surveillance was not available on the side of the building where the window was located.

He said, anyone with information about the property damage should contact the Buffalo Grove Police Department at (847) 459-2560.
