Schaumburg Park District brews German beer seminar

Learn how to brew beer this summer just like Schaumburg’s original German farmers once did.

The Schaumburg Park District will offer area residents the chance to learn all about the age-old art of beer brewing from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at its Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road in Schaumburg.

Participants in the brand new program will learn a brief history of German-American breweries in the Midwest and brewing techniques. They will then be able to sample different styles of German beer.

The fee for the program is $22 for park district residents and $27 for nonresidents. Participants must be at least 21 years old.
