Batavia-based ALDI recalls ground turkey product

Batavia-based Aldi has voluntarily recalled its Fit & Active fresh ground turkey as a precautionary measure in cooperation with Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation's recall.

Aldi has removed all products from store shelves listed on Cargill's recall statement.  No other Aldi products are affected.

The Fit & Active fresh ground turkey product is in a 19.2 ounce white tray pack with a UPC code of 041498180324, which can be found on the back of the package in the lower right-hand corner.  Customers who have the affected product should discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund.

The voluntary recall is associated with the Aug. 3, recall by Cargill Meat Solutions

Corporation, due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Customers with questions about recalled ground turkey products may contact Cargill's consumer relations toll free telephone number at (888) 812-1646.  For food safety inquiries, consumers may contact the USDA's “Ask Karen” virtual representative available 24 hours a day at www.askkaren.gov.
