No curtain call for debt ceiling charade

It is high time alert citizens close the curtain of falsely dichotomous political theater with respect to the fire alarm gimmick known as the federal “debt ceiling.”

Both parties share the blame for our $14 trillion national debt and mammoth budget deficits, and it is beyond debate among sober heads that only long term austerity measures can prevent an Argentinian-style economic collapse.

The larger question to be asked, however, is whether we should further accept the ceding of economic/financial, and by implication, political sovereignty to parochially-interested supranational financial elites, whose stated intentions are to “manage American decline” into the rubric of “global governance” — read: global government.
