DAVENPORT, Iowa -- In what could be a possible first-round playoff series preview, the Kane County Cougars scored five times in the first inning and held on to defeat the Quad Cities River Bandits 5-4 on Saturday evening.

The Cougars' Angel Franco scored on a dropped flyball in the first. Cheslor Cuthbert's single and a walk to Jake Kuebler loaded the bases for Orlando Calixte, who belted his second home run, a grand slam.
