Skinny: Naperville native and Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker was supposed to be a big draw for this game, but she has missed the last nine games with a knee injury and will be out at least another two weeks. They sit in fifth place in the Western Conference and have lost their last four games...Former Sky guard Kristi Toliver had 15 points in the Sparks’ losing effort in Atlanta on Thursday. Los Angeles also features two players who were recently named to the Top 15 WNBA players of all-time, as part of the WNBA’s celebration of 15 seasons: guard Ticha Penicheiro and forward Tina Thompson...The Sky is coming off a win over Tulsa that snapped a two-game skid. Center Syliva Fowles scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while point guard Courtney Vandersloot had 12 points and no turnovers. The Sky, which leads the WNBA with more than 18 turnovers per game, had just 13 against the Shock...The Sky currently sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and is 2 games behind third-place New York, which hosts the Sky on Thursday.
