Woodridge man killed in motorcycle crash

A 52-year-old Woodridge man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he collided with another vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Darien, authorities said.

Police continue to investigate the accident that killed William Pott, who was pronounced dead at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove shortly after the 4:38 p.m. crash on Tuesday, according to the DuPage County coroner’s office.

Pott was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson west on Plainfield Road near Lemont Road when he struck an SUV, the Darien Police Department said.

An autopsy performed Wednesday indicated he died of multiple injuries to the head and chest.

Darien police requested the DuPage County accident reconstruction team to investigate the crash, but no tickets had been issued as of Wednesday night.
