Re-branded bash
The "Taste of Des Plaines" is no more. In its place this weekend is the re-branded Des Plaines Summer Fling, which features crowd-pleasers like 10,000 Maniacs, Modern Day Romeos, 7th Heaven and more, plus food, carnival rides and kids' activities near the intersections of River Road and Ellinwood Avenue, Des Plaines. $3 admission donation (carnival rides extra). The ghosts of Palatine
Hear about ghostly sightings in Palatine during the Ghost Lore of Palatine organization's Ghost Walk. The event is for all ages, although it many be too scary for younger or more sensitive guests.
