If you want taxes raised, just wait

In response to Tom Teune’s posted on July 16: The only thing I can agree on is that I, too, have had it with this president. A strong global military presence is necessary to maintain global stability and security for our nation’s shores — and that’s permanent.

If you can’t understand that, rewind back to Sept. 11, 2001. If you liberals had it your way, by dismantling the military and our abilities on a global basis to protect this nation, I can assure you the next 911 would have already happened and it would have been far worse than the last one. Wasteful government spending and public sector unions, holding the taxpayers hostage, are what needs to be cut.

In the private business sector, unions have their place, but, at least in the private sector, we consumers have a choice. I can fly an airline that’s nonunion, buy a car that’s nonunion, hire a plumber that’s nonunion, and I can have dinner at a restaurant that’s nonunion. When we have so many public employee unions with the power to get what they want, or shut our services down, we taxpayers have no choice.

You want your taxes raised? You think government is good? Then move to Chicago — you’ll get plenty more of both, and with Governor Quinn looking over our shoulders, it shouldn’t be at all disappointing for you.

Or, you can just sit back and wait. Thanks to the most liberal president this country has ever seen — along with the several new trillions of dollars of debt, our taxes are bound to be going up soon. Oh, wait a minute; you liberals are now calling it “revenue.” Maybe you think that all of us bad Republican business people will respond better to that word. Do you really think that will soften the blow?
