Round Lake Beach woman charged with taking lewd pictures of child

A Round Lake Beach woman was ordered held on $150,000 bond Wednesday after being charged with taking lewd photographs of a 5-year-old boy.

Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said Esther Andrade, 32, faces a mandatory prison sentence of four to 15 years if convicted of child pornography.

Stanton said Round Lake Beach police were called July 8 when employees of a pharmacy discovered suspicious pictures had been printed at a self-service kiosk.

Police were able to identify Andrade because she had entered her name and phone number into the kiosk to make the prints, Stanton said.

Police went to her house in the 1400 block of East End Drive and discovered eight lewd photographs in Andrade's digital camera, Stanton said.

Police were able to identify the boy and said he explained how the photographs were taken during an interview.

Andrade was arrested after a forensic examination of the camera, and she appeared in Lake County bond court Wednesday morning.

Associate Judge Raymond Collins set the bond in the case and ordered Andrade to appear in court July 25.
