Waukegan man’s body recovered from lake

KESHENA, Wis. — Authorities in northeastern Wisconsin have recovered the body of a Waukegan man who presumably drowned earlier this week.

Menominee County deputies identified the body Wednesday as that of 45-year-old Donald B. Keenan.

Sheriff Butch Summers says Keenan apparently drowned while swimming with relatives Monday afternoon.

Emergency officials received a 911 call that day reporting that a swimmer in Legend Lake failed to resurface. A dive team searched for two days but couldn’t find him.

A Green Bay Press-Gazette report says an off-duty officer recovered the body Wednesday morning.

Menominee tribal medical examiner Rod Boivin says Keenan’s death has been ruled an accident. No autopsy is scheduled.
