The other five in the SUV were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with "serious" injuries, said Round Lake Fire Lt. Dennis Ostrander.

An autopsy on Lopez was performed Monday afternoon, but results will not be available until Tuesday, said Lake County Deputy Coroner Mike Reid.

It took about 15 minutes for firefighters to pull the passengers from the vehicle with the assistance of the Grayslake and Fox Lake fire departments.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
