Jaycees violated their own creed

My father was a part of this organization back in the 60s. He met his lifelong friend there, and I remember the great things they did for the community, the camaraderie and the encouragement given and received while he was a member. I imagine that the group still offers that.

Please look at The Jaycee Creed on the Illinois Jaycee’s website. “We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the Sovereignty of Nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men; That Earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life. — W. Brownfield.”

Did you catch that first line? That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life!

How very unfortunate that the Jaycees cannot follow their very own creed as it relates to the Respect Life group’s banner (they wanted) to carry in the parade! Doesn’t respecting a pre-born life and those that are elderly and all those in-between ring true to their written creed?

Hey, Palatine Jaycees! Either live by your creed, change your creed to stipulate your exclusiveness, or dissolve your meaningless group. The Village of Palatine should take away the Jaycee sponsorship of anything that is a community event until they get their act together.
