Mount Prospect cites four liquor sting

Mount Prospect police cited three adults for selling or providing alcohol to minors, along with a teenager for receiving it, during compliance checks Thursday at eight local businesses that hold village liquor licenses.

Mexie Jackson, 24, of Des Plaines, was cited for selling alcohol to a person under 21 years of age at Dominick’s, 1028 South Elmhurst Road, police said.

Rameshkumara Patel, 50, of Mount Prospect, was cited on the same village ordinance violation at Balzano Liquors, 2316 South Elmhurst Road, according to police.

Both cashiers are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 24.

While conducting a compliance check at Jay’s Liquor, 1728 West Dempster Street, an investigator observed Jose Gonzalez, 42, of Arlington Heights, purchase a bottle of vodka and deliver it to a male in a vehicle, police said. The investigator approached both and learned the man in the vehicle, Kei Glaser of Rolling Meadows, was 18 years old. Gonzalez was cited for delivering alcohol to a person under the age of 21. Glaser was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

They also are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 24.
