2 injured in North Aurora crash

Two people were injured — one of them seriously — after a motorcycle struck a pickup truck at the Route 31 exit ramp along Interstate 88 in North Aurora late Friday, police said.

Daniel D. Donaldson, 31, of the 200 block of Galewood Drive in Bolingbrook was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora and then airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said. Jerry Butler, 61, of the 8600 block of West 85th Street in South suburban Justice, was taken to Provena.

North Aurora police described Donaldson’s injuries as serious. Butler’s condition was not immediately available Saturday.

Police said Donaldson was driving a black 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Route 31 when he struck the passenger side of a blue 2008 Chevy Avalanche. He was not wearing a helmet.

The pickup was being driven north on Route 31 by Butler, who was trying to turn left on to the I-88 ramp.

Police said Butler was charged with failure to yield turning left. Police said it does not appear alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash should call the police at (630) 897-8705.
