St. Mary Family Rosary set Tuesday in Huntley

The St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society sponsors a monthly Family Rosary the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the church on Dundee Road. An Honor Guard is provided by the St. Mary of Huntley Knights of Columbus.

The Knights are privileged to provide an Honor Guard during the recitation of the rosary since the Knights of Columbus are consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Every new member of the Knights receives a rosary and is asked to carry the rosary at all times since it is very much at the heart of the Knights of Columbus.

The Rosary is a Gospel centered-prayer. The Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries recall the whole life of Jesus and Mary.

Bringing your family together to contemplate the mysteries of your faith strengthens the faith of each of the members.

The St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society is a spiritual organization open to all members of the parish. The members of this group also have Masses said for the members of their society and raise money to contribute to various parish ministries.

The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal service organization with nearly 1.7 million members in more than 13,000 local councils.

Last year, Knights donated 68 million volunteer hours and $151 million in charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth.
