D300 saves money with four-day work week

If you have business to conduct with Community Unit District 300, don’t leave it until the end of the week because district offices are closed Fridays throughout the summer.

The district originally slated three Fridays throughout the summer as furlough days in an effort to save on payroll and energy costs.

Those three days were then extended to Fridays throughout the summer in order to save the district more money on utility costs.

Summer hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. If you try to visit one of the schools or the administrative building, the doors will be locked. The district will return to regular five-day weeks beginning Aug. 8.
