If you have business to conduct with Community Unit District 300, don't leave it until the end of the week because district offices are closed Fridays throughout the summer.

The district originally slated three Fridays throughout the summer as furlough days in an effort to save on payroll and energy costs.

Those three days were then extended to Fridays throughout the summer in order to save the district more money on utility costs.

Summer hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. If you try to visit one of the schools or the administrative building, the doors will be locked. The district will return to regular five-day weeks beginning Aug. 8.

Graduation photos: If you graduated from one of the three high schools in Community Unit District 300 in May, you can relive all of the excitement of the ceremony through photos that are now posted on the district's Facebook page.

Search for cusd300 on facebook.com.

There are hundreds of photos to view from the graduation ceremonies of H.D. Jacobs, Dundee-Crown and Hampshire high schools.

The graduation was especially memorable for Hampshire High School students, as they were the first Hampshire graduating class to walk across the stage at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Health fair: McHenry County parents should mark Wednesday, Aug 3, on their calendars. That's the day of the 21st annual Children's Health and Safety Fair at McHenry County College. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the fair, children can receive reduced-cost immunizations, dental exams, as well as school physicals by appointment. To schedule a time for a school physical, call (815) 334-8987.

Also, if your child will receive an immunization, an updated shots record must be presented. To request immunizations, call (815) 334-4500.

This is an interactive health and safety fair with door prizes and entertainment.
