Batavia horse rescue hosts camp

Field of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption, a nonprofit, volunteer organization that provides a safe haven for abused and neglected horses, is hosting a “Horse Camp” from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 25-29, at the new horse facility in Batavia.

The program is designed and presented by veterinarian Trisha Lewis, D.V.M., and is limited to 10 attendees ages 8 and older.

Cost for this program is $250 and includes hands-on experience with the horses for all attendees; an introduction to horses; grooming and feeding; learning about equine health, including preventive care and common health issues; riding equipment; demonstrations and fun activities.

The fee includes all five days, instructions, all materials, an FOD T-shirt, snacks and take-home crafts.
