Warren Township Girls Softball holds clinic

Warren Township Girls Softball recently completed another extremely successful free player’s clinic hosted by the WTGS Board.

More than 100 registered in-house players attended the event at the Warren High School — Almond Campus.

Volunteer coaches from the in-house and travel teams along with some WAVE travel team players banded together to offer training in hitting, catching, throwing, pitching and fielding.

Each player rotated from station to station, completing a well-rounded practice in each discipline in four hours.

“My daughter attended the clinic yesterday,” one parent said. “I just wanted you to know she had a great time and learned a lot. Thank you for organizing it. Plus, the price was right.”

According to Tom Beck, president of Warren Township Girls Softball, “We put this free clinic together for all in-house players every year. And every year I am amazed at how much the players learn. We are very proud of these girls and their dedication to the sport. With this clinic we hope it will help them develop into even better players.”

Warren Township Girls Softball supports the WTGS Fastpitch local league, and the Warren Wave travel league. The goal of the Warren Township Girls Softball program is to create a positive softball experience for all girls through the education of the sport, stressing the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and fun.
