ICCTA Names Lingenfelter Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member

College of DuPage's Scott Lingenfelter has been named one of three state-wide Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Members for 2011 by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association.

Since 2000, the Naperville resident has taught a wide range of courses at COD, including History and Culture of Russia, History and Culture of China, and Western Civilization. He was named the College's Overall Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member for 2010-2011.

Lingenfelter first heard about the state award in a congratulatory note from College of DuPage President Dr. Robert L. Breuder.

“The College-wide award was honor enough,” he said. “I think the state-wide award is a well-deserved recognition of the College's commitment to student and community excellence. I was thrilled to be able to represent COD at the awards ceremony.”

Lingenfelter received his master's degree in Intercultural and Religious Studies from Wheaton College and earned his Ph.D. in History from the University of Illinois-Chicago, with specializations in 20th century Russian and Chinese history.
