Take a trip around the world with Barrington Rotary

The Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club is hosting a new event on Wednesday, July 6.

"International Fest: Bringing the World to Barrington" will be held from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. under at the Brat Tent in the train station parking lot in downtown Barrington.

The fest will bring international cuisine, music and dance, while Language Stars will present engaging games, songs, arts and crafts for children from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

End the day with Salsa dance instruction and Chinese drumming.

Admission free until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., adults $2; family $5.

• 11 a.m., Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band

• Noon, Inkapirka, music of the Andes.

• 1 p.m., Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging with grand master Kazuko Ernst.

• 2 p.m., Language Stars, Mandarin language interactive activity.

• 2:30 p.m., Japanese Consulate presents cultural activities for children: origami; kendo; calligraphy; trying on kimonos; fun with chopsticks.

• 4 p.m., Barrington Area Library story time.

• 5 p.m., Bollywood in Barrington! Indian Dance School.

• 6 p.m., Latin Street Dance Academy, salsa dance and instruction.

• 7 p.m., Latin Street Dance Academy, salsa dance and instruction.

• 8 p.m., Cheng Da Percussion Ensemble, Chinese drumming.
