Randall/I-88 bridge work near halfway point

There’s good road construction news for Aurora and North Aurora drivers.

Work to replace the deck of the Randall Road bridge over I-88 is almost halfway done.

According to the Kane County Transportation Division field engineer for the project, they expect to switch traffic to the eastern, northbound lane the week of July 11. That part of the bridge deck was replaced first.

The engineer said the project is on schedule and likely to be done by mid-August. The work began in May.

Herlihy Mid-Continent Construction was hired to do the work, at a bid of $968,916.
