Palatine library hosts healthy life workshop

The Palatine Public Library District will be hosting a 6-week health workshop, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” 2-4:30 p.m. Sundays beginning July 17 at 700 N. North Court. This series is presented by Stanford University Patient Education Research Center and the Illinois Department of Public Affairs. Older adults with a chronic disease and their caregivers are encouraged to attend.

Participants will learn to set goals to improve their health. Focus will be on the issues surrounding chronic medical conditions including arthritis, back pain, asthma, diabetes, MS and other health problems. Emphasis is placed on managing common problems such as: fatigue, emotions, exercise maintenance, and communication with families and providers.
