Cougars’ winning streak snapped

BURLINGTON, Iowa — The Kane County Cougars’ season-best five-game winning streak ended with a 9-5 loss Wednesday night to the Burlington Bees at Community Field.

Yordano Ventura (2-3) took the loss. He allowed 2 first-inning runs, as the Cougars trailed for the first time in 44⅔ innings.

Ventura gave up 6 runs on 7 hits in 3-plus innings.

The Cougars’ Brett Eibner hit a pair of homer runs, including a 2-run blast, and Angel Franco added his first homer of the season and an RBI single.

The Cougars hit a dozen homers during their six-game road trip, and Eibner hit 4.
