Lake Co. public defender running for circuit court clerk

A Lake County public defender announced that she will be seeking the Democratic nomination for 2012 clerk of the Lake County Circuit court election with the hope of modernizing the office.

Cynthia Pruim Haran of Round Lake announced her candidacy for clerk of the 19th district circuit court Wednesday with the intention of making Lake County court records more accessible.

“We cannot continue to operate with a grossly antiquated system that does not provide basic technologic services,” she said in an announcement. “Providing online access to certain records, filings and payment options will save the taxpayers time, travel and money.”

Pruim Haran is currently a Lake County senior assistant public defender, member of the Lake County Bar Association, Association of Women Attorneys of Lake County and on the board of directors for the Avon Township Community Foundation.
