Peoria man survives 150-foot fall

PEORIA — Police say an 82-year-old Peoria man survived a fall down a 150-foot ravine.

The Journal-Star newspaper in Peoria reports that Willie Venable was in fair condition at a Peoria hospital on Wednesday.

Police say Venable was trying to turn his tractor around Tuesday afternoon at the top of the ravine when it started to fall.

Venable's head was cut. The extent of other injuries wasn't clear.
