Frontier Days schedule

June 30 through July 4, Recreation Park, on Miner Street, three blocks east of Arlington Heights Road. Hours: 5-11 p.m. Thursday; 5 p.m.-midnight Friday; noon-midnight Saturday and Sunday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday.

THURSDAY, JUNE 30

5-11 p.m. Festival and carnival open. Bargain carnival rides all night.

5 p.m. Taste of Arlington opens.

5-6:30 p.m. Hockey skills. All ages, on the tennis courts. No blades. Sponsor: Rolling Meadows Renegades Hockey.

5:30-8 p.m. Dog Frisbee Catch & Fetch. Open to all dogs. Meet in the outfield. Register 5:30-6 p.m.; competition at 6:15 p.m. All dogs leashed and in park only during event. (847) 577-3000. Sponsor: Arlington Hts. Park District.

8 p.m. Main Stage: Lee Greenwood. His hit, “God Bless the USA,” has been voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America. Sponsor: Daily Herald.

FRIDAY, JULY 1

MONDAY, JULY 4

10 a.m. 4th of July Parade, “America the Beautiful, From Sea to Shining Sea.” Help celebrate a tribute to all volunteers. Parade route: Oakton at Dunton; to Miner to festival grounds. Sponsor: Frontier Days Inc.

10 a.m. Decorated Bike Parade, for children 4-12 accompanied by an adult. Check in at Oakton and Highland streets. No Big Wheels.

Noon-10 p.m. Festival and carnival open. Bargain rides are noon-6 p.m.

Noon-4 p.m. Pony rides for children, near Stage West. $2 per ride. Sponsor: Party Time.
